Strategic Alliances / Partnerships

LBSC seeks to identify potential strategic partners. Potential partners should have characteristics that will complement those of LBSC, including the following:

  • Complementary service offerings, e.g. geography, economic sector,      industry

  • Market exposure, e.g. community awareness, donor / investor
         contacts, networks

  • Common vision with LBSC regarding rural private sector
         development

  • Management integrity and strength of leadership

  • Non-competition with LBSC’s operations


    Example of Strategic Partnership

    LBSC will establish a strategic partnership with Mountain Resources Management Group (MRMG) which has ten years of experience organizing communities and promoting income-generating activities in rural Nepal, including the Western Region. A partnership would entail LBSC providing equity financing and technical assistance to entrepreneurs who have “graduated” from MRMG’s community development and income generation programmes. In this way, private sector development can progress hand in hand with poverty alleviation.


    Investment Opportunities

    LBSC invites public, private, and international entities to invest in an exciting new opportunity for the promotion of private sector development in rural Nepal. New investors receive a percentage shareholding of LBSC and the opportunity to obtain a seat on the Board of Directors depending on the level of their equity participation. Through their investment, the investors are entitled to a share in the Centre’s profits. New investors are subject to procedures and duties of the General Assembly of Shareholders of the Company. A Business Plan including projected financials of LBSC is available upon request by interested parties.
